The problem

Down Right Tech, a local technology and antenna business in Marion, Iowa, were running their working life across a handful of separate apps plus Google Calendar. Notes in one place, quotes in another, scheduling somewhere else, and personal reminders mixed in with all of it.

Nothing was broken exactly. It was just spread out, which is how details get missed, and every one of those tools wants its own account and its own monthly fee.

What I did

Built one application that holds the whole workflow. Work orders, quotes that can be sent to a customer as a link, scheduling with Google Calendar connected so existing appointments still flow in, and reception reports generated from the field.

The design goal was not to add another tool to the pile. It was to remove several, which means the replacement has to cover the boring cases as well as the interesting ones, or people quietly keep using the old thing.

Outcome

A single system for work orders, quotes, scheduling, and reporting, in daily use at drift.zacklovisa.com.

Quotes go out as a link rather than an attachment, and the calendar keeps talking to the Google account they already had, so nothing needed migrating on day one.
