The Work
A small business website has one job. Get found by people nearby who are already looking, tell them enough to trust you, and make contacting you obvious. Everything past that is decoration somebody sold you.
I have built these since I was 12, starting with my parents' businesses. Then two years at GoDaddy and two at Wix, which means I have seen how these sites get sold at enormous scale, and what happens to the people who buy them.
Start Small
A single page is a real website. Who you are, what you do, where you are, and how to reach you, built properly and fast. For a lot of local businesses that is genuinely the right answer, and it starts at $600.
You add pages when there is a reason to. A page earns its place by targeting something people actually type into a search box. Four good pages beat twenty thin ones, and they cost less.
The Other Bill
The build is a one-time cost. The hosting plan is forever, and over three years it often adds up to more than the build did. Anyone quoting you a website without mentioning that is leaving out half the price.
I will tell you which plan you actually need, which is usually a cheaper one than you would be sold, and what it renews at once the introductory rate ends.
Platform Or Custom
Wix, WordPress, and Squarespace are good products. If your site needs to look professional, load fast, and take enquiries, a platform build gets you there sooner and cheaper, and you can maintain it yourself. I will set one up properly and hand you the keys.
Custom becomes worth it when you are fighting for competitive search terms, need real speed, have an unusual content structure, or want something a template genuinely cannot do.
